Fixed prosthodontics

Lasting, flawless solutions for your smile.

Fixed prosthodontics is the gold standard for replacing lost tooth structure and missing teeth, with maximum comfort for the patient. Our aim is a perfect balance between chewing function and the natural aesthetics of the face.

We work with the most advanced biocompatible materials. Metal-free ceramics stand out in particular (all-ceramic and zirconia): they guarantee exceptional durability, no allergic reactions and a flawless appearance, without dark margins along the gums. Our expertise covers single crowns, complex ceramic bridges and aesthetic veneers, which transform your smile completely with minimal tooth preparation.

Metal-free crowns

A metal-free crown has no metal core, so it transmits light the way a natural tooth does. There is no dark line at the gum that reveals classic metal-ceramic work over time, and the ceramic is biocompatible, causes no allergies and does not change colour.

All-ceramic is usually chosen for the front region for its aesthetics, while zirconia carries heavier loads and is the choice for back teeth and shorter-span bridges. At your consultation we will tell you plainly where each option is justified and why.

Metal-ceramic crowns

Metal-ceramic crowns remain the gold standard for a significant proportion of prosthetic work, thanks to their strength, longevity and the decades of clinical experience behind them.

They are still the first choice for long bridges, particularly where there is a wider span between the units. Thanks to advances in technology their aesthetics have improved considerably, so highly aesthetic results are achievable with them as well.

They are also the first choice for combined restorations and very often for large bridges on implants.

Veneers

Veneers are thin ceramic shells bonded to the front surface of the teeth, correcting shape, colour and minor irregularities. They are planned together with you, and before permanent cementation you verify the result on a try-in prototype, in everyday conditions.

Inlays and onlays

When a filling is no longer sufficient but a crown would be excessive, a ceramic inlay or onlay restores only the damaged part of the tooth. This minimally invasive approach preserves healthy tooth structure, and ceramic withstands chewing forces far better than a large filling.

Common questions

How long do metal-free crowns last?

With good hygiene and regular check-ups, typically ten years and more. The ceramic does not change colour over time.

How much of the tooth is ground down?

Only as much as the crown requires. With veneers and inlays or onlays the preparation is minimal, which is precisely their advantage.

How quickly do I receive my crowns?

With the digital workflow, usually within two to three days of the scan. The exact timeframe is agreed at your consultation, depending on the type of work.
