A healthy, restored tooth is the basic condition for long-term oral health and for the success of any prosthetic work. Our conservative treatment focuses on detecting and removing decay early and rebuilding the tooth with the finest nano-composite fillings, which match the natural colour and translucency of enamel perfectly.
If the infection has reached the dental nerve, we apply modern endodontic protocols. Root canal treatment is performed with great precision, ensuring thorough mechanical cleaning and a hermetic filling of the canals. A properly treated tooth can go on working for many years and is often a key support for future prosthetic work.
Fillings
We remove decay conservatively and close the tooth with a tooth-coloured composite filling. When the damage is larger, we will propose a ceramic inlay or onlay, a restoration that lasts longer and withstands chewing forces better than a large filling.
Root canal treatment
When inflammation reaches the dental nerve, the tooth can in most cases be saved by root canal treatment. The canals are shaped mechanically, disinfected and permanently filled, and after treatment the tooth is reinforced with a post and a crown where needed.
Endodontics is also preparation for prosthodontics: a tooth that will carry a crown or a bridge must be properly treated for the work on it to last. That is why we give the treatment the same care as the prosthetic work itself.
Common questions
Does root canal treatment hurt?
It is performed under local anaesthesia and is usually no more unpleasant than an ordinary filling. Mild sensitivity for a few days afterwards is normal.
My tooth has been treated. Does it need a crown?
Often yes. A treated tooth is more brittle than a healthy one, so a post and a crown protect it from fracturing. At the consultation we will tell you whether that applies in your case.
